An oral sedative is sometimes used to help perform dental treatment on children who are very nervous for dental work.  When using nitrous oxide alone is not enough to perform treatment this oral sedative may help to complete treatment by causing grogginess and lethargy.  Our doctors are well trained in this type of moderate sedation and are evaluated by the dental board on a regular basis for competency.
